We are honored to spotlight Dr. Mekeshia Bates who has been highlighted by the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps Nurse Officers for her passion and service to the Corps. On April 1 ,2017 she was promoted to Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) and she is currently stationed at Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Bureau of Primary Health Care, Office of Quality Improvement.
Dr. Mekeshia Bates is a doctorally-prepared adult psychiatric nurse practitioner licensed in Maryland and Washington, DC. She is passionate about providing psychiatric care including counseling and medication management across the adult lifespan. Dr. Bates has experience with adult psychiatry, geriatrics, trauma, and addictions. She has provided psychiatric services, consultation, and medication management to clients in outpatient, inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient settings both as a civilian and through the military.
