Our Sites

Durham

Our program site benefits from the robust and innovative clinical, training, and research programs offered at the Durham VA Health Care System (DVACHS).  DVAHCS cares for 70,000 Veterans in central-eastern North Carolina region, and serves as a rich training environment for multiple local interdisciplinary training programs, and a multitude of development and educational opportunities at our University affiliate, Duke University. Durham Quality Scholars will be housed in Durham’s well-established and respected Durham Center of Innovation to Accelerate Discovery and Practice Transformation (ADAPT) with an extensive record of trainees who go on to successful and productive careers in research, leadership and clinical administration. ADAPT also offers fellows the opportunity to participate in ongoing collaborations with established operations partners (e.g. National Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, National Emergency Medicine leadership, VACO Geriatrics and Extended Care, VA Diffusion of Excellence).

Faculty at our VAQS site are sought after for expertise in implementation science, developing systems to improvement prevention and chronic illness management, women’s health, geriatrics and long-term care, physical activity, musculoskeletal disease management, behavioral health, and population health science.

Fellows come to our Durham VAQS site to gain an expertise in Implementation Science, QI Practice, Informatics, and Statistical Methodology
