Meghan K.M. Black, MD is an internist at the Birmingham VA medical center and the University of Alabama Birmingham. She completed her residency and quality improvement fellowship at the University of North Carolina in 2017. She currently practices hospital and general internal medicine at the VA where she is active in the resident clinic and on teaching wards. She has been serving as the Assistant Director of the Birmingham VAQS since 2018. Black’s research and quality initiatives include the safe transition of patients across the care continuum, inpatient identification and treatment of those with opiate use disorder, and point of care ultrasound. In addition, she is actively involved in medical student and resident education across these areas
