Dr. Taber is a professor and director of clinical trials within the Division of Transplant Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is also a clinical pharmacy specialist at the Ralph H Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC. Dr. Taber has been working in the field of solid organ transplant for 20 years. He dedicates most of his professional time and efforts on clinical outcomes research, primarily studying methods to optimize medication use and safety within transplant recipients; he has published over 130 manuscripts and presented more than 200 abstracts, the majority of which focus on documenting patient outcomes using novel therapeutics or health services interventions. Dr. Taber earned his B.S. in Pharmacy from SUNY Buffalo in 1996 and his Pharm.D. from MUSC in 1999 and his M.S. in Epidemiology from MUSC in 2016 as well. He completed specialized residency training in solid organ transplantation from UNC Chapel Hill in 2000. He has been a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist for 20 years.
