Physician Scientist, VAQS & GRECC Faculty, Associate Director of HSR&D VINCI, Tennessee Valley Healthcare System VA, Nashville, TN Dr. Matheny is a practicing part-time general internist and clinical informatician. He is an elected fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Medical Informatics and elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation. His research foci are predictive analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence, automated medical device surveillance, and natural language processing. He is currently funded by VA HSR&D, NIDDK, NHLBI, PCORI, NEST, and FDA.
