Michele Spoont, PhD

Michele Spoont, PhD is a Core Investigator with the VA Health Services Research and Development’s Center for Care Delivery and Outcomes Research and with the National Center for PTSD.  She is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota Medical School and served as a VA PTSD program manager and clinical psychologist/neuropsychologist for many years. Dr. Spoont’s research broadly focuses on patient, provider, community and health care system factors in treatment engagement and clinical outcomes among Veterans with PTSD. Much of her current work focuses on disparities in PTSD treatment delivery and clinical outcomes depending on Veteran race, ethnicity, sex, and intersectional identity.
