Dr. Patricia A. Patrician is the Donna Brown Banton Endowed Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She joined the faculty in August 2008, after retiring from a 26-year career with the US Army Nurse Corps. She teaches in the PhD program, mentors pre- and post- doctoral students and fellows, and conducts research on nurse staffing, work environment, and quality and safety patient and nurse outcomes. She is currently a co-investigator on a program evaluation of the US Army’s Patient CaringTouch System, an innovative nursing practice model. She is also a Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) consultant.
