As a general internist and clinical researcher, my career has focused on improving care for older adults. I have conducted clinical trials in older adults in a variety of conditions of aging and have served as an investigator on several long-term prospective cohort studies of older adults, evaluating predictors of disability in older adults and the risks of a variety of classes of medications in this population. My current interests also include evaluating the impacts of expanded community care for Veterans on access and quality of care.
